This week has been particularly vibrant for us on the channel, with three live sessions that provided us with an abundance of knowledge and experiences. Here, I'll tell you all about what happened and the challenges I have ahead:

Chat with Vladimir Khorev: Winner of the LensCulture Street Photography 2024
Vladimir Khorev, the recent winner of the prestigious LensCulture award in the Street Photography category, shared fascinating details about his "Characters" series and his unique approach to capturing the essence of the streets. The way Vladimir looks for and finds those unique moments is inspiring. If you want to learn more about his work, follow his Instagram @vladi_khorev.
Conversations with Andrés César: Juxtaposition in Street Photography
Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of talking with Andrés César, who delved into the concept of juxtaposition in street photography. Andrés shares an intriguing approach that plays with visual elements to tell richer stories. You can watch this interesting talk at the following link YouTube and follow Andrés on his Instagram profile here.
Live with Juan Sostre: Intrusive Photography
On Sunday, we spoke with Juan Sostre, a Puerto Rican photographer known for his intrusive approach to street photography. Juan shares how he captures the essence of the streets with a bold and direct perspective. You can watch this vibrant talk on YouTube and follow Juan on Instagram here.
Challenges for Next Week
The live sessions were not only educational but also left me with personal challenges that I must complete in the next 7 days:
Challenge from Vladimir Khorev: Capture an image of someone eating at street food stalls in Hong Kong, maintaining my style of contrasting that person with another element.
Challenge from Andrés César: Photograph someone breaking the fourth wall, looking directly at the viewer. A challenge that captures the essence of direct visual communication.
Challenge from Juan Sostre: Take a photo of a Westerner under a sign with Chinese characters in Hong Kong, exploring cultural contrast in an urban setting.
Community Participation
I invite all the members of our Facebook community and the students of our academy to participate in these challenges. For academy students, there will be a special talk to discuss their photos and experiences.
These challenges are not only an opportunity to grow as a photographer but also to see how others in the community approach these interesting challenges. I am confident that, with a little luck and a lot of creativity, I will be able to meet these goals. Wish me luck and stay tuned to see the results!
